We went to Winston Salem, North Carolina, lives
near Old Salem. After dinner, take a walk in the place of Old Salem, there is
very quiet, and very few visitors. Maybe we take a walk in the evening,
although very quiet, but the museum was closed.

Old Salem of Winston Salem, North Carolina is historical
block. Its characteristic is to explain recovery Moravia community life’s
history museum. Non-profit organizations began to work in 1950, but there are
some private residents had restored buildings earlier. Because the old Salem
historical block, it was declared a National Historic Landmark (NHL) in 1966。The area of the 18th and 19th centuries, public
buildings, churches, houses, and in the store showed the culture of Moravia to
settle in North Carolina.

Two buildings respectively designated as the
NHL, the Salem Tavern and the Single Brothers' House. Other buildings and
properties have been added to the population registration with a long history.
Salem Tavern is a historic museum property at
800 South Main Street in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was
a tavern in the 18th-century town of Salem, which is now part of Winston-Salem.
It is part of Old Salem Museums & Gardens and open as an Old Salem tour
building to visitors. Built in 1784 and enlarged in 1815, it was the first
entirely brick building in what is now Old Salem, and is one of the oldest
surviving brick tavern buildings in the United States. It was declared a
National Historic Landmark in 1964。

The Single Brothers' House was built to house
the Single Brethren, the unmarried men, of the Moravian Congregation of Salem,
now Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is part of Old Salem Museums &
Gardens and open as an Old Salem tour building to visitors. It is located at
600 South Main Street, at Academy Street, on the southwest corner.

Old Salem area is not large, walking two hours
to go the whole historical area. Salem is Moravia colony. Now it is still
residue Moravia characteristics of ancient buildings. Walking in here, it would
be like in the long river of history. Read every page of history, learn about
their culture, it is the most historic atmosphere of the area.
