Downtown 


On Friday, after dinner, we walked along Jungfernstieg Street to the Concert Hall, Hanseatic Higher Regional Court building (Hamburg), Planten un Blomen parks, and Television Tower. And Jungfernstieg Street, the other side is Central Station.

Brahms Concert Hall

Germany is a country music, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms is the three giants, and they support its classical music hall. As hometown, Brahms is the pride of Hamburg, so this concert hall is also called "Brahms Concert Hall," named for the square in front of the Concert Hall • Johannes Brahms Square, and for his legislation so a special statue. Inside there is a Brahms memorial, 1909 by Max Klinger, and a Laeisz memorial.

Planten un Blomen Park

Planten un Blomen is a park with a size of 47 hectares in the center of Hamburg. The name is Low German for plants and flowers.

It is composed of five parks, Alter Elbpark, Grosse Wallanlagen, Kleine Wallanlagen, Alter Botanischer Garten, Alster Park. The five parks from south to north, from the Elbe River all the way to the Alster Lake. From the map, the largest green belt is located on the west side of the city center, such as a piece of emerald necklace throughout downtown

This is Bismarck statue, which is located in the alter elbepark park. In fact, it is a green field. Bulge in the middle of a green hill, top of the hill stands a statue of Bismarck. In 1892, after he served as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Prussia, has conducted a war against Denmark, Austria and France. His victory. He realized the unification of Germany.

Hanseatic Higher Regional Court building (Hamburg)

Planten un Blomen, the five parks together. There are several small square between them. It’s surrounding the distribution of many beautiful buildings. Court is the most characteristic buildings. Three European classical architecture was "concave" font distributed on a gentle slope, centered of Hanseatic Higher Regional Court building, which was built in 1907 to 1913.

The main entrance of the building on the civil court established four pillars of the statue, they are important legal persons in the history of Hamburg.

Both sides are criminal courts building and civil courts building. Built in 1898-1903, they are a century building.









William I Memorial Statue

In the civil court building near grass, there is a group of statues. It is Kaiser Wilhelm I memorial statue. William I was a famous king in German history. He was enthroned as King of Prussia in 1861. He appointed Bismarck as prime minister. He waged several wars, especially the Franco-Prussian War defeat of Napoleon in 1868, cleared the way for the reunification of Germany. In January 18, 1871, he became the first German emperor in Versailles in Paris.

In William I Memorial Statue also scattered around several statues of smaller sculptures. It is an adult with two children. This should be the two children of William I of children. William I have a son and a daughter. His son Frederick III, he accepted the position of emperor later.

In the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court building behind, there is Russische Kirche von Hamburg (LA), it is being repaired. Church buildings in Hamburg, which is particularly short.

Summary: Hamburg has a lot of historical sites. We need to take the time to understand it. If you just skim the surface, we would miss its historical significance.
