Germany, Schwerin - the smallest German state capital

142 kilometers away from Hamburg by train at 1 hour 20 minutes there is a small town of Schwerin, it is also the smallest German state capital. Schwerin, an ancient city in Germany, located in Schwerin Lake. Schwerin had belonged to East Germany. After the reunification of Germany, became the capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).

From Hamburg Hbf to Schwerin Hbf morning there are two trains, which are 8:36am and 10:28am departure, running 74min to arrive. Because I'm going to two places, Schwerin and Wismar. So I want to buy a train ticket 8:36am, but I was not lucky that day Hamburg railway workers strike, canceled the 8:36am train. Hamburg information center staff told me that every small town you just need to stay two hours is enough. So I embarked on a train line from Hamburg to Rostock.

When the train slowly enters Schwerin station, giving a feeling of quiet. It is not noisy metropolis, away from impetuous earthly. It is so quiet and serene.

At noon, I follow the tourist map, to the Pfaffenteich pond. Green wicker falls, elegant building reflected in the water, the town seemed to be just waking up, walking on the ground, feet on the bluestone brick, issued by the crisp sound. The town is too quiet.

Schwerin town, because it is located between 7 lakes, it was known as the "City of Seven Lakes." In seven lake, where there is the third largest in Germany, Schwerin Lake. Schwerin has not only with bright lakes, the simplest folk, it has been known as a honeymoon destination, romantic scenery.

In 1160, Henry the Lion defeated the Obotrites and captured Schwerin. The town was subsequently expanded into a powerful regional centre. A castle was built on this site, and expanded to become a ducal palace. The city also has a largely intact old town, thanks to only minor damage in World War II.

Walking through the old town, the gravel road, not many visitors, very quiet, with many half-timbered houses, now mostly turned into cafes, jewelry shops and artists' studios. Walk through these labyrinthine trail, as if the shuttle at the time of the promenade.

Sunshine, lakes, forests, palaces, beaches, the old town, formed a beautiful view of Schwerin. Among this quiet and beautiful city, we can hear the native German, and experience the traditional North German culture. No matter how a long history, they will not be ignored: Schwerin palace glittering spires. Schwerin palace like a fairy tale palace, quietly standing in the Schwerin Lake on an island. The capital of Mecklenburg - Western Pomerania, it is a city of lakes and forest. Schwerin show to visitors, its history, cultural treasures, beautiful natural scenery blend of unique landscape.

A walk to Schwerin, where history, culture, landscape, humane. That lake, that street, that hospitable owner, that wine house in flickering candlelight, let you run around in a hurry to slow down the road of life, and we have to recover the lost tranquility and serenity.

I would like once again to Schwerin. Schwerin's Dragon Boat Race day in August, where once the Dragon Boat Festival in Germany. People crowded in the lake that make a country girl selling dumplings and jasmine.
