6 Days Road Trip – ( I ) Chicago, IL

June 28, it was a Saturday. At 5:30am, we all get up, wash finished, we took the luggage off. At Saturday morning, busy people are still sleeping. The stars are not intended to retire. Residential area surrounded by silence. We drove onto the 402 highway. This highway is very straight, we only spent about one hour, it ran across Sarnia Ontario entered America.

After entering the United States, we turn on the 1-94 freeway. In the 108 exit, we go toward Ft Wayne / Lansing Highway No. 1-69. Special attention is that the U.S. highway speed limit is an hour 65miles, while Canada is 100 kilometers per hour. Remember, not speeding.

We travel 342 miles, took about five hours. We arrived in Chicago in about 1:00 pm. Compared to New York, Los Angeles, this famous metropolis, Chicago is ambiguous in many people's minds. Some people say it is a gang-infested "Sin City." Some people would say, "Chicago, what fun?" But it stands silently in Lake Michigan, blooming with a touch of beauty.

When we arrived in Chicago, the eye is a skyscraper blocks. They both classical Renaissance style, but also ahead of modern contemporary creation. A mix of buildings constitute a spectacular scenery in the city center. Some people say that Chicago's downtown is beautiful throughout the United States. I totally agree.





Millennium Park.

This amazing big metal ball, it can put the entire city center and sky are reflected inside. It's called "Cloud Gate". It is a wide weight 110 tons of stainless steel bubble, created by British sculptor Anish Kapoor. It is one of the world's largest outdoor sculpture, very inspired.

In the corner of the park, the front is in downtown Chicago, there are a lot of sound at the top of the steel frame, beneath that is an open-air concert hall. Jay Pritzker,it is large enough to accommodate 1,500 people Amphitheater. It is said that through professional design, in the open air sound is still very good.

Millennium Park is a large park. It is very suitable for walking. There is also a fountain of the screen, which is a human face, the water will be discharged from the mouth.

Gothic architecture Tribune Tower, it is not to be missed on a building in the gorgeous Avenue. Inlay on the exterior of this building, which is to collect the stones from the monuments around the world, such as there is from the foot of the Great Wall, Angkor Wat, the Roman arena, Thai temple to collect, and even Chinese people's tombstone.









Art Institute of Chicago

It was built in 1891, due to the collection of art treasures from around the world and has a reputation, it is one of the three major American art museum. It is also the world's one of the oldest art galleries. The museum collection of about five thousand years, a lot of art authentic aspect of the five continents, especially the French impressionist painter's masterpiece, Renoir, Picasso, Van Gogh and other priceless masterpiece. Even the doors on both sides entrenched in bronze lion logo has become a statue in Chicago.

In the Art Institute of Chicago, the introduction of the "American Gothic". Author of this piece is Grant Wood. His paintings can be said to be the greatest treasures in the Museum of Art in Chicago. This painting of the Statue of Liberty, Barbie dolls, Uncle Sam, and is known as the American buffalo nickels five cultural symbol. It is said that this painting is Grant Wood returned to the United States, saw a steeple house, and imagine standing in front of the house looks like a farmer and his daughter. His house was shot down photos. Later, he found two siblings being a model. Two people are separated painting. It has long vexed relations for painting figures, and some people say they look like a couple, and some people say they look like father and daughter. To Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago must go! Give us a little time, walk in various exhibition Museum of Art, and wandering around in exquisite artistic atmosphere,   let time quietly flowing around, let your mind with exhibits open, so we can know the true Chicago .

Chicago Theater

Chicago Theater was built in 1921, is America's first large-scale luxury cinema. The theater, which has become the venue of Chicago's most famous concerts, theater, dance, and special events.










Willis Tower

Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower, which is the highest in Chicago. The building 442 meters high, 108 layers, since the 1973 completion status has been ranked the world's tallest building. Until 1998 the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur were beyond. After the Taipei 101 building, it is more than the Petronas Twin Towers. Later Burj Dubai became the world's tallest building. However, by far the Willis Tower, the tallest building in the United States is still. Perhaps the future will be in New York Free Tower beyond the WTO's old address. At 103 layers in Willis building, where there is a person overlooking the city for sightseeing lookout used. Out from the Willis Tower, was already dark, we go on with the dazzling lights of the street in Chicago, with an excitement, a sleepy. Now the rest, and tomorrow we have to drive.
