Avenida da Praia

Avenida da Praia is one of the tourist attractions eight in Macau "Avenida" is the old name Taipa, "Praia" refers to the Portuguese style of architecture. We walked from the Venetian hotel to the Taipa, about 15-20 minutes. We are across the street from this bridge.

Avenida da Praia scenic small, but in the land of China, it has an exotic atmosphere. Our Lady of Carmel Church, Carmel Garden, The Taipa Houses-Museum, etc., which are in the region.


Our Lady of Carmel Church

Built in 1885, this church stands on a hill overlooking the sea, Taipa Village and the restored mansions of Old Taipa Praia.

Carmel Garden

Next to the Church of Our Lady of Carmel on a hill overlooking the village of Taipa and the old Taipa Praia, the garden follows a formal European design. It has a vine-covered gazebo with fountains and stone benches, meticulously maintained flower beds and paths winding up to a small belvedere.

From the park you can follow a zigzag walkway lined with low scalloped walls to the old praia, where one of a row of restored 1920s mansions is now the Taipa House Museum.

Taipa Houses-Museum

The Taipa Houses-Museum is composed by a few Portuguese styled buildings, which were built in 1921 and were formerly the houses of senior government officers and Macanese families. Overhanging flower baskets and old-fashioned street lamps make it an ideal place for walking around.

Taipa Old Village is a treasure trove of souvenir shops, snacks, traditional cakes and exquisite furnishings where visitors can find the ideal gift or souvenir for family and friends.







Rua do Cunha

From the Avenida da Praia scenic out, we went to the Rua do Cunha. Rua do Cunha in Taipa south of the city center, it is one of Macau's famous food street. Chinese and Western restaurants everywhere in the street, there are a number of selling local specialties "souvenirs" (gift) shop, it attracts a lot of tourists and the people of Macao. City Hall to establish it as the first pedestrian area in Macau in 1983.

Rua do Cunha is a must to go to the food street when you come to Macau. We are in this not too long street, walking, eating, shopping and enjoy some customs in Macao. To consumption is not too expensive in here, but there are very characteristic of Macau.

Macau is a small city, but it has the world's most exciting and desire of money Vanity Fair. As tourists, we may never be able to experience half a century of colonial history and pop culture blend, leaving life imprinted to Macau. However, time freeze the moment, we encounter Ruins of St. Paul, encounter the Venetian Hotel, and encounter most real Macau.
