Pensacola, Florida, this historic town through the
vicissitudes of history. It beautiful beaches, military strategy, art, nature
and history which are collected. Its multiple charm everyone can understand it.

Gulf Breeze, which is located between the beach and
Pensacola on the Gulf port of a peninsula. Between east Navarre Beach and Santa
Rosa Island, connected to the town by a bridge. Opposite the beach is a state
park, there is a 275 m-long fishing pier in the park, it is a people activity
center, famous for its spring stargazing. Gulf Breeze is known to make frequent
UFO and a spectacle for all the family favorite zoo.

From Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach we passed FL399S. When we arrived at
Pensacola Beach, it has been a noon time. Pensacola Beach is located in Santa
Rosa Island, the longest barrier island in the world.
There is an old Florida
feel it has a natural beach, local place, first-rate fishing and historic Fort
Pickens, it is hidden a good tourist destination. Pensacola Beach because it is
difficult to find in the travel magazines.

The Pensacola Beach Pier is one of the longest in the Gulf of Mexico at
1,471 feet. Portofino Boardwalk features open-air bars and restaurants, shops,
piers and shallow water for kids along Santa Rosa Sound. Visitors can access Gulf
Islands National Seashore, the nation’s longest stretch of protected seashore,
on both sides of Pensacola Beach, making it an ideal spot for biking,
snorkeling or kayaking. In summer, visitors are entertained with free concerts
four nights a week.

Turn right from Pensacola Beach to Fort Pickens Road, we drove westward,
appeared in front of a very white sandy beach. If not, we are in this
environment, it is difficult to separate a white sand or snow.

At this length tens kilometers of beaches, whether it is your looking for a
quiet corner of the coast on the original, or the whole family piled build
sandcastles and adventure, or to feel the wind blowing under the shining
splendor. All the scenery beautiful picture depicting constituted under the
blue sky and white clouds. The scenery is really beautiful, evocative endless.

When we drove the car into the Fort Pickens area, we can also find the
remains of the early military defense. During the Civil War, when northern
troops across the bay and occupied the whole of Fort Pickens, also south of the
federal control of Fort Barrancas in Pensacola Bay side.

Fort Pickens successfully
served the country protecting the coastline for over a hundred years. The fort
has undergone many changes. Yet with imagination, the layers of time can be
peeled back to see its history.

These masonry walls were strong
enough to support heavy cannon on top and allow space for cannon below,
providing twice as many guns as earth and log forts of similar size. Notches
were cut into the rear columns of the casemates in 1841 to allow room for newer
and larger gun carriages.

Town Bastion. At the time of
construction, the western end of the island was about 150 yards beyond this
corner of the fort. Today the end of the island is about 0.75mile away. A top
this bastion is a 15-inch Rodman cannon and on the northwest wall is an 8-inch
Rodman cannon. A 15-inch Rodman was installed on the Tower Bastion in 1868.The
8-inch Rodman is mounted were a similar weapon sat as late as 1901. The
National Park Service mounted both cannon seen here today. The gray building
beneath this bastion is a refrigeration room added about 1900.

The 12-inch guns of Battery
Pensacola, mounted on disappearing carriages, represented the largest and most
advanced weapons in the Army's arsenal in 1898. The steel barrel took over a
year to manufacture and with its carriage weighed 116000 pounds. The 1070 pound
projectiles were propelled by 275 pounds of smokeless nitrocellulose powder.
The guns had an effective range of about 8 miles. This type of gun battery was
made obsolete by carrier-borne aircraft and Battery Pensacola was disarmed in
1934.

Pensacola's military legacy of
influence to this day, it has the remains of an early military defense, as well
as Naval Air Museum. It has become obsessed with military aircraft of another
great place for children and adults. National Naval Air Museum shows over 150
special aircraft, flight simulation machine and comes with an IMAX cinema.
November each year, Blue Angels Air Show will bring you a thrilling flight
"Feast."
