Canada, Historic Old Québec – ( I )

Quebec City is indeed worthy of careful taste, especially in the eighteenth century French style is full of the old town, and it is simply a reproduction of European cities that year. Successful colonial four hundred years ago it became the land of the oldest cities in North America. Perhaps it is precisely because the French people moved here four years, they successfully maintained their cultural traditions, to avoid the erosion of Irish culture.

Whether it is the ancient city walls and fortress, whether Petit Champlain, the narrow streets, and the central square in the Upper Town, the ancient battlefield of three hundred years ago, or whether it is only speak French and English service denial shops, both historical museum, or style unique French culture festival, which will give visitors impressed. These impressions are not enjoy elsewhere in North America, and some even do not feel in metropolitan France.

Today's France, I think it might not be a very easy thing to do, to find the style of the eighteenth century and folk. These you will inadvertently taste in many parts of Quebec City. It can be said that Quebec City, it is a people deliberately preserved artifacts. In all cities in Canada, the Quebec City is the most personalized, most cultural characteristics.

In 1893, Canadian Pacific Railway Company built the European castle type of luxury hotels. The Château Frontenac was named after Louis de Buade, Count of Frontenac, who was governor of the colony of New France from 1672 to 1682 and 1689 to 1698.

Quebec City is divided into Upper Town and Lower Town. Chateau Frontenac hotel is located in Lower Town, it was built in 1893 in the former St. Louis Fort on the foundation of the castle.
