Quebec originally Indian reservation. On June 3, 1608,
the French Samuel DE Champlain first discovered this land, and in accordance
with the local native language named for its "Quebec", meaning
"river Narrows place", and established colonies, began the French colonial
rule in Canada area (referred to as the "new France"). Samuel DE Champlain
also referred to as the “father" of New France”.
Quebec is one of the most famous in the history of the
fort. It is also a settlement center, industrial products in Europe and North
America fur distributing center. In the hundreds of meters high was built on
the cliff town after a new religious and administrative center of France, Quebec
city was developed for the center with St. Louis fortress, became the St.
Lawrence river is one of the most important port, the increasing population,
the city is widening.
After the construction of the Quebec City, form an Upper Town and Lower Town two parts. Upper Town is religious activity area and
administrative district, mainly by the ancient castle as the center, surrounded
by a wall, and focus on the many luxury mansions and religious buildings.
Lower Town is mainly built in the cliff on the St. Lawrence River, it is a trade,
port, transportation, construction and old residential area.
From 1608 to 1608, after the French colonial rule for
a long time, to Quebec City impression has been etched deeply in the French
culture. Quebec is still strong continental Europe from the 17th century, it is
more distinct than Montreal kept the French romantic amorous feelings. The
French residents accounted for 90% of the population, the native language is
French, and living habits, local residents is main insinuation that thick
French colors.
In the 17th century, the French army began
fortifications in the field, and they are not only devotes to defend with epic,
also left a Quebec people proud tradition of spirit. The old Quebec City is the
only left wall fortress city in the North America. Around the ancient city is
still visible to the old castle, gate and fortifications.

Lawrence River, has important strategic position, it is called the Gibraltar of
North America. Quebec City is the army of battle in history. Since it

Britain and France in the war that is for capture Quebec.
That is actually part of the British and French for seven years' war in Europe.
As North America's largest two colonists, the British and the French open for a
new war of France. The battle of Quebec are an integral part of the whole war.
Quebec City is the capital of New France, its location in the St. Lawrence River
port, if the British people can't capturing Quebec City, so they want to attack
the target of New France that is equivalent to a dream.
At the edge of street in Quebec ancient city, we see a
thick tree, exposing a ground ball. The ball has been tree stem wrapped
tightly. It is said that the iron ball it is a shell, it is the British
launched to Quebec City from their ships on the St. Lawrence River when Britain
and France for capture Quebec. The shells landed under a tree
after they failed to explode. Over time, shell wrapped up by the tree. Trees
become the witness of the war.
Stand ancient fort in the St. Lawrence River, look at
this piece of land that it is the smoke of the battlefield, the myriad of
thoughts. When the British army occupied the Quebec City, after 11 years, they
will be built into a North America's most famous military stronghold. After the
many years of change, until today still is ceaseless flowing water in the St.
Lawrence River, and Quebec ancient city that a ring of the walls of silence.
The ancient city of Quebec still retains the thick
walls. Outside of Quebec ancient city is a modern city, and the inside of the
city is still retains its construction of hundreds of years ago. The ancient
city of Quebec solid walls and formidable St. Lawrence River constitute a
complete defense system, and the British army defeated the French army just
outside the ancient city wall, made after the British dominance in Canada. The
one mark on the wall, narrates the scars of yesterday, and today's thoughts.
Stroked the ancient battlefield of artillery on the
St. Lawrence River, the old church bell in the distance. I thought to myself,
when the British and French war for the ancient city of Quebec, it is not
necessarily a bad thing. The war that Quebec City has long been under the rule
of Britain and France, the beauty of the main architectural style at the same
time with the British and French style.
That year, the British army with a 20 minutes of
battle, to the end of the rule of the French in Quebec. Really should thank the
British and French forces the outbreak of war, only left a unique Quebec City.
If there is no war in Quebec, I'm afraid there will be no such structure uptown
and downtown, that there will be no city wall. So the Quebec City is the only
walled city in North America.
On ancient fort, look out across the St. Lawrence
River where there is a few boats in the quiet of the river, and the occasional
big ships pass by, we slow down the pace of walking, more appreciate the
mountain hills on the other side of the river there is dotted with beautiful
architecture, that is another town -- Levis, I really like this kind of relaxed
and leisurely times.
