In order to catch the first ferry to South
Baymouth on Manitoulin Island, we and our friends set out at midnight from
London, Ontario. We gathered in front of the parking lot in Real Canadian
Superstore. Under the starry sky, we drove to Tobermory, the top of the Bruce
Peninsula. Along the way very dark, cannot see both sides of the road, we drive
carefully.
The day before dawn, we
arrived at the port of Tobermory. The day of September, has been a slight
chill, but the port of Tobermory has long team of passenger and car. People in
the morning quietly waiting. I imagine the moment that the bow of the cruise
ship to be opened, what will be exciting.
We follow the command,
the car parked in the specified location, and then we embarked on the ship
deck. This ferry boat, Ms. Chi-Cheemaun, which is the original people of the
Ojibwe language, translated into English as "big canoe". It can take
up to 638 people and carry 143 cars at the same time. It is the largest
passenger and car ferry in Ontario.

Of course, you can drive
more than 200 kilometers from Toronto through Sudbury, through a bridge,
arrived in Manitoulin Island. Road trip to Manitoulin Island, without time
limit, the action is free, although traveling is a little farther away, but you
can save the cost of the ferry. The time spent with the ferry is probably the
same.
About two hours later, we
arrived at South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island. Manitoulin Island, which is the
largest freshwater island in the world, 176 km long and 5 to 80 km wide. The
island has more than 100 lakes, including Manitou Lake. It has the largest lake
in the world, and there are several islands in the lake, which is the island
has a lake, the lake has an island. On the island, you can go hiking, cycling,
fishing, camping, boating and diving.

Cup & Soucer Trail, a
trail on the cliff, one of Ontario's most famous Trail, about 12 km. It is the
highest point on the Manitoulin Island, 356 meters above sea level, and 70
meters high cliff has two kilometers long. However, the most spectacular
scenery is here. Standing on the edge of the cliffs, the green forest as the
same as the green carpet unfold as endless as the fantasy. Mosaic in the middle
of the lake, the shuttle of the river, increase the spiritual power. To meet
the breeze, downwind pure, fresh breath. To look over the high cliff fault,
often reveals the white rock, greet the dawn coming. Feelings such as all sorts
of taste, cannot express, only one thing: just stood overlooking, let the time
stop passing.
Kagawong village has a
stunning waterfall, Bridal Veil Falls, about 12 meters high, some visitors swim
in the water, like a paradise. From the back of the water looked out, feeling
very cool in the summer. The water of the waterfall flows through the Kagawong
River to Lake Kagawong, a few kilometers south of the waterfall.
M’Chigeeng, as the
second-largest and most central of Manitoulin’s First Nation communities, it is
a fitting home to the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation. M’Chigeeng is home to a
number of galleries, craft shops and restaurants. It was initially settled in
the early nineteenth-century by Minnesotans who moved on from Wikwemikong.
