The Birthplace of the Commonwealth of Canada - Prince Edward Island

From Fredericton of New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island province of Charlottetown, we drove 3 hours and 29 minutes, 341 km trip. Many years ago, connecting New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island only ferry, after 1997 have the Confederation Bridge. Founded in 1993, the cross sea bridge, a total length of 13 km, 65 pier, three corners of the design, prevent attacks the tide of the sea breeze, middle section of reaching a height of up to 61 meters, in order to ship through, seeing very spectacular, is limited by the camera, can only make the patches of below.

Prince Edward Island, located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, in the east of New Brunswick, and the north of Nova Scotia. It is the birthplace of four provinces of Canada league. Both in terms of area and population, it is the smallest province in Canada, but with “Birthplace of Confederation" known.

Canadians have a beautiful legend: God put part of his creation of the earth on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, thus forming the beautiful island. Native American Indians called the island "floating on the waves of the cradle".

Prince Edward Island shaped like a crescent moon, the first by the explorer Jacques Cartier discovered while sailing along the coast in 1534, and named the Ile Saint Jean. Originally Micmac Amerindian inhabited the land, of the 17th century, Acadians began to migrate to here. In 1763, the British won seven years of British and French colonial wars, and through the treaty of Paris to take the sovereignty of the island, later renamed the Ile St. Jean. In 1798, with the son of George III - renamed "Prince Edward". Finally, in 1873 became a province of Canada.

Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island, is a town with only more than 30000 population, you don't see it, but it is a truly independent of Canada's founding. Little town, charming harbor, clean and quiet on both sides of the street trees, elegant 19th century Victorian mansion, unique red brick building, the old church, rich history, pure and beautiful rural scenery,with modern
fashion charm, everything into the island idyllic beauty, let people to travel to intoxicate...

St. Dunstan's church is located in Prince Edward Island capital of Charlottetown parliament building Street. The name comes from the Glastonbury ---St. Dunstan. Originally built in the church was destroyed in a fire. The present church is a stone structure built in 1916.
 
Grand and lofty St. Dunstan's church for French new gothic architecture, its huge scale is one of the largest religious buildings in eastern Canada, due to the altar of engraved with Italian style and gorgeous rose window. St. Dunstan's church as the most significant landmarks, it tall spire straight into the sky. It is the tallest building in Charlottetown, very impressive.

Charlottetown provincial assembly hall was built in 1847. It was established in 1864 to the Canadian federal and the colonies representative meeting place for the first time. Known as "the room of the birth of
federal” historic conference room located at the 2nd floor, at the time it was the same with other rooms, and open to the public.

Sculpture before the provincial assembly hall. The local people called "three bronze portrait", it is said, is to commemorate the “World War I, World War II and the Korean War “fallen soldiers. It is also one of the city landmarks.
 






"Anne of Green Gables ", published in 1908, was the author of Miss Montgomery, have significant impact on literary world in Canada, this book has been the praise of the world. Due to the influence in the world, every year tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world, especially the female tourists, attracted to Prince Edward Island, Canada, visiting Anne's footsteps, visit the world famous of Anne of Green Gables.

Anne of Green Gables is located in the Cavendish village of Prince Edward Island. It is a well preserved 19th century style typical farmhouse. Seemingly ordinary but extraordinary, and it is a famous Canadian writer Maud Montgomery Lucy's fame as the "of Green Gables Anne" in the creation of the prototype.

Small green room surrounded by flowers green leaves, it reproduces the characters in the book room, romantic and sweet Annie's room, you can see a little girl's romantic feelings, all decorated the room seemed to let time frames in the Anne life one day in the 19th century. Small green room not far ahead, a beautiful, rustling, dusk, visitors through the forest path, there are written in the novel "horror forest".

Area of Canada's smallest province of Prince Edward Island, the island is full of unique crimson land, a sea of blue, black and white dairy cattle, Rolling Meadows, and potato fields, with the blue sky and white clouds, let a person plaint, it is paradise.
