6 Days Road Trip – (V ) Bighorn National Forest

We drove straight from Mount Rushmore Cody town, on the road will cross the Bighorn National Forest, which is located in northern Wyoming, United States and consists of over 1.1 million acres (4,500 km²). Created as a US Forest Reserve in 1897, it is one of the oldest government-protected forest lands in the U.S.





Bighorn National Forest is part of one of the mountains of the Rocky Mountains. Its highest peak is Cloud peak, it had 13,175 feet (4000 meters). That is America's oldest national forest.

Tall pines growing on the mountain, hillside covered with fertile pasture, winding road repair very well, every section of the road there are vantage points make people stop and enjoy the scenery. In the mountains there are State Park and Campground, Hill great, very few people really escape the noisy city's downtown, close to the paradise of nature.

When we tour coincided with purple and yellow flowers bloom hillsides, very beautiful, cannot wait to take pictures of each place to stay. But time does not permit, we must arrive at Cody before dark, so only a short stay in the Shell Falls.

On the way down, we see a lot of open ranch. Now think of it, there probably is, "Brokeback Mountain," An Lee's story takes place. Although the film's location, it was not shot here, but the story is indeed a mountain ranch in Wyoming, but I do not know what a mountain is that sad place.

From the town of Cody to Yellowstone National Park's east entrance about 53 miles. Cody town, it is from the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park to go through the city. Because the hotel is hard to find in Yellowstone National Park, many tourists will choose to spend the night in the town of Cody. We arrived in the town of Cody before dark. Cody town is a tourist city. It retains the cowboy culture. If people want to see the shaking cow, maybe Cody Stampede Rodeo to meet you.

Cody town's name comes from the names of William Frederick Cody, his nickname "Buffalo Bill". The Cody is who? He is a well-known figure in the American cowboy, and is famous. He is a soldier, and he participated in the Civil War. He is a wild beef mongers, "Buffalo Bill" nickname from the 4280 bison killed during the eight months. He is also a famous entertainer, he pioneered the "Wild West Shows" swept the world.







We pass by here, because it is tourists. If you have some free time, a lot of places should stay some days in order to really understand the beauty of the city. This may need to wait until after retirement, with more leisure day. The kind of horse galloping in the wilderness, or conquer strong cattle, that would be true cowboy life.
