Parliament Hill (French: Colline parlementaire) is located in Quebec City in the borough of La Cité-Limoilou. It was the first National Historic Site of parliament building in Quebec. It is a magnificent the Second Empire style architecture. Its structure forms a square measuring approximately 100 m x 100 m. History of Parliament Hill are not particularly long, it is between 1877 and 1886 built, its architecture, almost unique in North America, inspired by the Louvre palace, the only French institution building in Quebec City.

Parliament Hill’s (French: Colline parlementaire) main facade of the building has 26 bronze statue. It is remembered with outstanding contributions: founder, explorers, soldiers, missionaries, politicians and colonial administrator in the history of Quebec.

In Parliament Hill (French: Colline parlementaire) in front of a seat fountain sculpture Fontaine de Tourny. It has 43 water jets, seven-meter-high fountain, carved figures. Fontaine de Tourny spent more than a century in France, it has become a landmark in Quebec City before.

Fontaine de Tourny was originally proposed by the French sculptor Mathurin Moreau created and won the gold medal at the 1855 Paris World's Fair. From 1857 to 1960, Fontaine de Tourny was decorated in a broad road, in front of Allées de Tourny in downtown Bordeaux. In 1960, the city of Bordeaux to remove it, on the grounds that the maintenance costs are too high. It is safely stored until the 21st century, there is a Paris antiques dealer who bought it.

Retail store of a local family owned La Maison Simons  accidentally found it in Saint-Ouen flea market in Paris. At the time, he was looking for a unique gift to the 400th anniversary of Quebec City. Fontaine de Tourny was shipped to Quebec City in 2003. Fontaine de Tourny again maintained. Today, it has become a must-see attraction.





When people humming the song of old songs, look back to 200 years ago, the building and saw that the Parliament Hill (French: Colline parlementaire) still mighty, presumably on that wall still standing statue urban pioneers, and including Jacques . Cartier and Samuel de Champlain. Vehicles on the street that presumably are also carrying affectionate words silently -Quebec, je me souviens (Quebec, I remember).
