Quebec’s Murals

It is also the perfect combination of architecture and color, and fresco wall is much more approachable. A total of 11 fresco walls in Quebec City, each of which is colorful and interesting. But there are three murals in the old town, which are quite famous. The murals are modeled on the famous people, architecture, geography and cultural elements of the Quebec style, such as the old walls, such as the old city walls, the connecting steps Upper Town and Lower Town. Each fresco is a veritable masterpiece, colorful, detailed and realistic. Quebec's murals are bringing history into life.

Fresco of Quebecers (Fresque des Québécois)

Don't miss Fresco of Quebecers in Cotede la Montagne in Old Quebec's Place-Royale. This mural tells the story of Quebec City, with its unique architectural and fortifications visual interpretation, and the weaving of its characters beyond life. Look carefully at the windows of the building: you can see the work of 16 historical figures and nearly a dozen of Quebec's leading writers and artists. It's really an amazing job!

Fresco Petit-Champlain, located at 102 Petit-Champlain, at the foot of the Escalier Casse-Cou (Breakneck Steps), along one of North America's oldest streets, where there are Fresque du Petit-Champlain. It presents the real life of the old age. It depicts milestones in the history of Cap-Blanc, Québec City's working-class waterfront neighborhood, from the beginnings of New France until the present day, and adds the charm of America's oldest Petit-Champlain tour.

Fresco BMO in the National Capital of Quebec (Fresque BMO de la capitale nationale du Québec)

On the Rue De La Chevrotière, a street across Parliament Hill, there is a fresco wall, Fresco BMO in the National Capital of Quebec, to commemorate 400-year-old political history of Quebec City. The murals depict the Quebec Parliament House, as well as the different individuals - everyone in their own way - in the province's political development left their mark.

Throughout the Quebec area, there are many murals, especially in Cap-Rouge, Beauport, Wendake (Village des Hurons), the Côte-de-Beaupré region, and Lévis. You can see all by visiting the website of Commission de la Capitale Nationale du Québec (in French only)
